History test 1.2. is about French Revolution and the influence of ideas derived from political liberalism. These are the key ideas in this unit:
- Political liberalism and the idea of separation of powers (vocabulary about the three branches of government on page 16).
- Situation in France just before the Revolution (complaining about prices, about government and King's spending). Diagram with the causes of the French Revolution on page 23.
- The Estates General: what for?, composition, disagreement about the voting system...
- First steps towards Revolution: Tennis Court Oath.
- The symbol of the ordinary people fight against opression? The storming of the Bastille (page 26).
- Declaration of the Rights of Man and of Citizen (page 28).
These are the types of questions that you'll have to deal with:
- Open questions (they might include a picture or a map).
- Match questions: concepts and definitions.
- Document analysis: getting information from a painting, engraving, text...
